STORY

Jairo Arcila is a third-generation

coffee producer from Quindío, Colombia, and the father of Cofinet co-founders Carlos and Felipe Arcila.

After working for over 40 years as a mill manager at one of Colombia’s largest coffee exporters, he expanded from his first farm, Finca La Esmeralda, to six farms in total.

With guidance from his sons, Jairo has improved his specialty coffee production, focusing on careful processing and cultivating varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Java, Papayo, and Gesha. His farms also provide employment for the local community during harvest, while producing other crops including citrus, plantains, and bananas.
